Agricultural and Forestry Practices that Sequester Carbon and Reduce Other
Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Carbon sequestration and reductions of methane (CH4) and nitrous
oxide (N2O) emissions can occur through a variety of agricultural
and forestry practices. Likewise, carbon can be lost and CH4 and N2O emitted to the atmosphere through a number of land-use
changes and practices.
This section of the Web site provides information on common agricultural and forestry practices that sequester carbon and/or reduce CH4
and N2O emissions.
