Compilation of EPA Mixing Zone Documents

We have made available a compilation of EPA regulatory and guidance documents published to date on mixing zones. Until now, EPA statements on mixing zones could only be found throughout various handbooks, memos, and other documents that EPA developed over the years. EPA created this Compilation to provide states, territories, tribes, and other interested parties with easy access to mixing zone information.

We expect that this Compilation will be especially helpful to states that are revising mixing zone provisions in their water quality standards or implementing those provisions in NPDES permits. It may also help stakeholders consider mixing zone policies and implementation procedures in their jurisdictions.

The full compilation is available in hard copy. You can order the document EPA-823-R-06-003 from the National Service Center for Environmental Publications (1-800-490-9198).
