Information on Bidder's Conference for the
ITA/Eligible provider Demonstration

What is the purpose of the information session?
The purpose of both of these two all-day sessions is to summarize the current knowledge base about ITAs/Eligible Provider system goals, frameworks and implementation processes and to review the goals and objectives of the Demonstration Project. Attendees will learn about the technical assistance services that will be provided to grantees and the expectations for grantee involvement in designing, testing, and evaluating alternative approaches to ITA/Eligible Provider implementation. Attendance at this session is voluntary and no written summary of the meeting will be distributed.

Who Should Attend?
Because space is limited, local, state and regional collaboratives are asked initially to provide the names of attendees. Applicants are assured at least two seats, and perhaps more, depending upon the number of responses that are received by the U.S. Department of Labor.

What is the registration fee?
There is no registration fee. Attendees will have to pay for their own travel and lodging.

When and where will the session be held?
Two full-day sessions will be offered. Applicants may pre-register for either September 27 or September 28, 1999. The sessions will be held at the Sheraton Dallas Brookhollow in Dallas, Texas. Information regarding hotel reservations is included on the registration form.

What is the agenda?
The morning session will provide an overview of the Demonstration Project goals, current knowledge about ITAs based on the Career Management Account demonstration and other research, and relevant information on the Workforce Investment Act. The Afternoon session will focus on the key components of the demonstration project, including Common Elements, Variable Elements, and Technical Assistance available to grantees.
