Become a Web Tools Service Provider
Five Steps to Become a USPS Web Tools™ Service Provider.
Many companies may not be familiar with XML, Application Program Interfaces (APIs) or many other pieces that make up the business to business communication tool. What they are interested in is selling their product and using the USPS Web Tools™ to get their packages prepared and delivered.

To assist these customers in their goals, the U.S. Postal Service publishes contact information of any company who is willing to offer their expertise and is capable of meeting the following criteria:

  1. Policy Guide – Download and read the Software Distributors Policy Guide. This Guide provides information regarding distribution of passwords and ID’s to your customers and answers many important questions.
  1. Registration – Register with USPS Web Tools
  1. Usage – Agree to all Terms and Conditions necessary in order to begin testing the USPS Web Tools™ API test server. Initiate use of the USPS Web Tools production server for API calls from a publicly accessible Web site and remain in active production use of the USPS APIs for at least four consecutive weeks. Verification of use will be required, along with further documentation if questions regarding usage remain.
  1. Request to be listed – Email the USPS Web Tools program office at webtools@email.usps.gov in order to begin official listing process. In this email please indicate the specific Web Tools with which you wish your company to be associated. PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to tell us your username and the company name under which you’ve registered.
  1. Verification & Approval – We will verify registration and use of the USPS Web Tools. Upon satisfaction of all criteria, your company will be listed as a service provider.
