Priority Mail Open and Distribute Service  
Priority Mail Open and Distribute (PMOD) is a premium service that transports shipments of other classes of mail to distribution destinations—at the speed of Priority Mail®. You simply prepare the shipment for dispatch and ship it via PMOD to a mail processing facility or destination delivery unit, where it is then opened and distributed. Because it has a special bar-coded label, you can use USPS.com to track the shipment’s quick trip to the opening unit.

How does it work? Just prepare your mailing according to the standards for the enclosed class of mail, put it into a USPS-approved container, and bring it to a designated USPS acceptance office. Then we base the postage price on the weight of its contents (excluding the tare weight of the external container) and regular Priority Mail distance-based prices, so you can move your mailings faster at a reasonable cost.
