Examples of Successful Proposals

Reviewing successful proposals is a great way to learn how to write a proposal that has a good chance of getting funded. Checklists and step-by-step guidelines are also helpful. Below is a list of sites that will provide detailed information for beginning and experienced proposal or grant writers.

Written by S. Joseph Levine, this is a well-organized guide for beginners that includes detailed information on the basic elements of a successful proposal. According to the author, "a major theme that runs throughout the guide is a concern for the development of meaningful, cooperative relationships--with funding agencies, with community organizations, and with the people you are serving." The guide will help you understand how to write a project overview and how to evaluate a project and a budget.
