Director Horst Simon to speak at NERSC User Group teleconf Nov 9 |

| Dear NERSC User Group and NERSC Account Managers,
NERSC Director Horst Simon has a special message for the NERSC community. He will be speaking for the first ten minutes or so at tomorrow's NUG teleconference, Thu Nov 9 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.
"I would like to tell you about some important changes in the leadership of the NERSC Division. After recent discussions with Laboratory Director Chu and Deputy Director Graham Fleming, as well as with DOE Program Managers, I would like to inform you that lab management has agreed to my recommendation to recruit for a new NERSC Division Director. I will remain Associate Laboratory Director and Director of the Computational Research Division, and the lab expects to add a new NERSC Division Director to the computing sciences management team in early 2007. I have received strong support for this decision from both Laboratory and DOE management, and I would like to explain my rationale for it to you."
