Providing grant information to current and prospective HHS grantees

This report shows the number of mandatory and discretionary grants, their associated dollar values, and the respective percentage of each organized by operating division.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which administers the Medicaid Program, typically awards about two-thirds of the total HHS grant dollars in any given year.  The Administration for Children & Families (ACF) usually is a distant second with about 20% of the total grant dollars awarded, while the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is third with less than 10% of the total HHS grant dollars.
