Brief Bio

Dr Kashlinsky did his M.Sc. at Tel Aviv (Israel) and Ph.D. at Cambridge (England). He has been at Goddard since 1991 with a couple of years break at NORDITA (1994-1996 and 1997/98). His scientific interests include cosmology, galaxy formation, large-scale structure of the Universe, cosmic microwave background and cosmic infrared background radtiation. He is a PI on several NASA and NSF grants to study topics related to bulk flows and cosmic microwave bacxkground radiation, and to cosmic infrared background and early stellar populations.

Educational Background

1979-1983 - Ph.D., Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge, England. Thesis title "The Formation of Bound Systems in the Universe", Supervisor: Martin Rees.

1976-1979 - M.Sc. and B.Sc., Dept of Physics & Astronomy, Tel Aviv University, Israel

Research Interests

Cosmology - early Universe - galaxy formation - large-scale structure - cosmic microwave background - cosmic infrared background - Population III

Current Projects

Bulk flows (NASA ADP) - measure large scale bulk flows from cumulative SZ effect in X-ray clusters using WMAP data.

LIBRA (NSF) - Looking for Infrared Background Radiation Anisotropies
