TOOLS IN REVIEW : BUSINESS LOCATOR |

The MBDA Business Locator is a new online search tool that will identify Minority Business Vendors that can provide products and services in response to bids and solicitations. It uses the MBDA Phoenix database system with over 30,000 minority firms. The primary purpose is to allow you to make referrals to increase opportunities for these firms. It should not be used to support mailing lists or directories for outside organizations.
If you receive phone calls or emails asking for a list of minority firms in a certain industry, you can now do the search yourself without having to contact headquarters. This system will search for minority businesses by State, with City or Congressional District. Just follow the prompt to specify a product / service from a list of North American Industry Codes (NAICS), Standard Industrial Classification Codes (SIC), National Institute Of Government Purchase Codes (NIGP), and Annual Sales Range, Ethnic Group and Export. You can then display the list and print in a spreadsheet format. Eventually, you will also be able to view a map showing the firms for the area selected.
Please be advised that we are currently performing a data cleansing to verify information within the Phoenix system. In some cases, the firms identified may no longer be in business. Therefore, this tool remains a Beta website under development. Please send any comments and suggestions to support@mbda.gov.
