Indian and Native American Grantees
  • Guidance for implementation of the Workforce Investment Act funding in the Recovery Act for Native American Programs issued.
    Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) 16-08 provides further policy guidance and direction regarding the Recovery Act funding for activities authorized under the WIA, Subtitle D, Section 166, Native American Programs. Through this guidance, ETA is also providing specific instructions about the requirements for Indian and Native American grantees to modify the currently approved two year plan.
Office of National Response - National Emergency Grants
  • ETA Issues Policy Guidance and Direction for National Emergency Grants
    In Training and Employment Guidance Letter 19-08, the Employment and Training Administration has issued policy guidance and direction for National Emergency Grants (NEGs) funded through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 resources.
Senior Community Service Employment Program
  • ETA issues guidance for current SCSEP grantees for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) funds and extends the period of performance of current Program Year (PY) 2008 grants for an additional six months.
    The objectives of Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) 15-08 are: 1) To provide all current SCSEP grantees with further instructions and procedures for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) funds that are available on February 17, 2009, with a period of performance to June 30, 2010; and 2) To extend the period of performance of current Program Year (PY) 2008 grants for an additional six months to December 31, 2009.
Workforce Investment Act and Wagner-Peyser Act
  • ETA Provides Guidance on the Reporting of Recovery Act Funds for Wagner-Peyser and Workforce Investment Act Programs
    The Employment and Training Administration has issued Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) 17-08. This TEGL provides guidance on the reporting of Recovery Act funds for Wagner-Peyser and Workforce Investment Act Programs.
  • ETA Issues Guidance for (1) Implementation of the Workforce Investment Act and Wagner-Peyser Act Funding in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and (2) State Planning Requirements for Program Year 2009
    The purpose of Training and Employment Guidance Letter (TEGL) 14-08 is twofold. First, the TEGL provides policy guidance and direction regarding the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“the Recovery Act”) funding for activities authorized under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 (WIA) and the Wagner-Peyser Act. And second, it provides specific instructions regarding the requirement for states to modify their WIA and Wagner-Peyser Strategic State Plans.

    Change 1 to Training and Employment Guidance Letter 14-08:

    Clarifies the period of the Recovery Act funding availability at the local level for the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) formula programs; addresses recapture and reallocation of unobligated local WIA Recovery Act funds; changes the funds transfer limit between Recovery Act Adult and Dislocated Worker programs to 30 percent; encourages local areas to serve migrant and farmworker youth with Recovery Act youth formula funds; and announces the location of frequently asked questions and answers on the Employment and Training Administration Web site.

  • ETA Publishes Initial Plans for Implementation of Workforce Investment Act and Wagner-Peyser Funding
    ETA has released Training and Employment Notice (TEN) 30-08 which sets forth the initial plans developed by the agency for implementing programs programs under the Recovery Act.
  • ETA Provides States and Outlying Areas with Stimulus Allotments to Supplement FY 2008 Allotments for WIA and Wagner-Peyser
    Training and Employment Guidance Letter 13-08 provides the allotments made under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to supplement Program Year (PY) 2008 allotments for WIA Title I Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Activities Programs, and Employment Service (ES) activities, as required by the Wagner- Peyser Act, as amended, and to provide RES Allotments.
