  WIA Incentive Grant State Applications  
     
  Section 503 of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) authorizes the Secretary of Labor to award incentive grants to states that exceed performance levels for programs authorized by title I of WIA, the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act (AEFLA), and the Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act (Perkins Act). The grants are used for a variety of purposes, including infrastructure support, coordinated training with partner programs, and staff capacity building.

  • TEGL 9-07:
    To provide states guidance on the Employment and Training Administration’s (ETA) revised policy related to incentives and sanctions under title IB of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) for performance accountability purposes.

  • The Department of Labor, in collaboration with the Department of Education, announces in the April 30 Federal Register that the Ten states listed in the May 14 Federal Register are eligible to apply for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) (Pub. L. 105-220, 29 U.S.C. 2801 et seq.) incentive awards under the WIA Regulations.

  • TEGL 19-06:
    To inform states of the guidelines for negotiating Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title 1B performance and customer satisfaction goals and performance levels for the Wagner-Peyser Act Program for Program Year (PY) 2007 and PY 2008. These negotiated performance goals will be incorporated into the State Strategic Plans for the WIA and Wagner-Peyser Act as part of the modifications states will be making for Years Three and Four of the Strategic Five-Year State Planning cycle.
