Tree of Life’s voluntary recall is in response to the widening recall involving peanut products supplied by Peanut Corporation of America (“PCA”) following the discovery of salmonella in product originating from PCA; and in accordance to FDA recommendations. Products distributed by Tree of Life have NOT been linked to the nationwide Salmonella outbreak.

Tree of Life is conducting this recall due to the expanded recall notification from PCA and the potential of contamination with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

The recalled items were sold directly to consumers from retail stores located nationwide. Consumers who have purchased this product are urged to dispose of the product, or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.

The safety of our consumers is important to us. Tree of Life appreciates your continued support and will continue to work hard to provide the high quality products and services you expect. Consumers with questions may call our National Customer Care Team Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm EST at: (800) 223-2910.
