FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Fowler, CA -- February 17, 2009 --- National Raisin Company of Fowler, California is recalling selected lots of Champion and other private label brand trail mix products because they contain oil roasted/salted peanuts that were supplied by the Peanut Corporation of America’s Plainview, Texas production facility. The private label brands include Aldi Southern Grove brand trail mixes, Food Lion and Bloom brand trail mixes, and Supervalu Acme, Albertsons, Jewel, and Shaw’s brand trail mixes. Texas Department of Health Services Commissioner David Lakey, M.D. ordered a mandatory recall of all products produced at the Peanut Corporation of America’s Plainview, Texas facility due to conditions identified in violation of current good manufacturing practices. National Raisin Company has not received an official recall notice from the Peanut Corporation of America Plainview, Texas facility as of this recall notice. Due to the Texas Department of Health Services action, National Raisin Company is voluntarily recalling the following products in the interest of consumer protection.
National Raisin has not received any reports of illness due to the consumption of these products. No other Champion or private label branded product produced at National Raisin Company are involved in this recall.
This recall involves several Champion, Southern Grove, Bloom, Food Lion, Acme, Albertsons, Jewel, and Shaw’s brand trail mixes only with the following production bag markings:
These products are packaged in various ounce size plastic stand up ‘resealable’ pouches.

Any stores or distribution centers that have these identified products in inventory should remove them immediately. Anyone in the possession of the affected products with the above listed production bag markings should not consume this product and are urged to discard it. Customers who have purchased one of the above trail mixes may return it for a replacement or full refund.
