Dear NERSC users,
A reminder: Bassi will be down for scheduled maintenance Wednesday,
August 2 from 14:00-23:59 Pacific Time. We will updating the Parallel
Environment, Loadleveler batch scheduler, and GPFS file system software.
Memory Usage on Bassi
Some users have been experiencing problems with memory exhaustion on Bassi.
To help you plan and monitor your memory usage we've updated these web
pages:
* Running jobs on Bassi
(https://www.nersc.gov/nusers/resources/bassi/running_jobs/) has an
updated explanation of how much memory is available to your application
on each Bassi node,
* Running on Bassi: Interactive jobs
(https://www.nersc.gov/nusers/resources/bassi/running_jobs/interactive.php)
has new information on running serial utilities on the login nodes.
* Bassi completed jobs list
(https://www.nersc.gov/nusers/status/jobs/bassi/) now displays the
maximum memory used by a single task for a given job. (Check "Memory"
under "Select Columns to Display" and click on "Update Display")
