Subject: NIM accounting information on Seaborg
Author: Francesca Verdier <fverdier_at_lbl.gov>
Date: 2004-11-29 14:40:53
Dear SP users, We are in the process of recomputing Seaborg usage in NIM. This is a two-stage process which is expected to finish tonight at about 6:00 PM Pacific Time. For now the first stage has finished and many users will see large negative balances; however users are NOT being restricted due to these negative balances. Users (except those who had previously been restricted due to negative balances) can continue to submit batch jobs. The reason for the recompute is that we recently discovered that some Seaborg jobs were missing a start time stamp and were therefore not being processed by the NIM accounting banker. These jobs account for about 800,000 hours that previously had not been accounted for. When the recomputing is finished later this evening, we will have accurate usage for the 2004 allocation year. Many repositories will end up with negative balances, but this will not affect job submissions today or tomorrow (the last two days of the allocation year). Sincerely, -- Francesca Verdier email: fverdier@lbl.gov Group Lead, NERSC User Services phone: 510-486-7193
