The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is the Federal agency responsible for reimbursing mammography facilities certified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) for Medicare patients receiving Full Field Digital Mammography (FFDM) screening. Facilities seeking resolution of Medicare reimbursement issues for FFDM units should contact CMS directly rather than their Accreditation Bodies.
