Austin Energy Selects Gemini for 30-MW, Solar Project
LCG, March 6, 2009--Gemini Solar Development Company LLC announced yesterday that it was selected by Austin Energy to construct a 30-MW, solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Texas. The solar facility will be built approximately 25 miles east of Austin at a 300 acre site owned by the City of Austin. The facility is scheduled to be completed and generating electricity by the end of 2010.

FPL Begins Construction on Solar Project
LCG, February 27, 2009--Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) yesterday announced the groundbreaking for its DeSoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center, which will provide 25 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power to FPL's customers in Florida. The company states that the project will be the largest solar PV facility in the nation when it is complete at the end of 2009.
