Freedom of Information Act
FOIA: NMO provides a decentralized Freedom of Information Act Program for the agency at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), enabling the public to better understand the business of the Government by providing timely and accurate agency records to citizens of the world.

Records Management: NASA Management Office (NMO) provides oversight and guidance to the Records Manager and Archivist, ensures compliance with NASA retention/disposition schedules and verifies that historical and statutory requirements are followed and program objectives are met.

Privacy Act: NMO provides oversight and guidance to the Privacy point of contact and enforces compliance with agency and statutory requirements regarding the storage and retrieval of Privacy Act information and management of Privacy Act systems of records.

Guide for FOIA Requestors: The Guide provides instructions on obtaining information through the Freedom of Information Act and several links to information and/or documents that are useful to the requestor.

Electronic Reading Room Index: (Make FOIA Request)
The Electronic Reading Room contains a list of categories of documents or information specifically identified for inclusion by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), (i.e. the Current Annual Report) as well as documents or links to information for which we have received multiple FOIA requests (i.e. Columbia FOIA released documents). The number of items in the Reading room undoubtedly will grow.

NASA's Office of Procurement: The Office of Procurement provides general information and active contract listing, etc.

U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ): The DOJ Guide to the Freedom of Information Act; Overview of the Privacy Act of 1974, Your Right to Federal Records, FOIA Updates, FOIA Annual Reports.

NASA History Office: The Headquarters History Department is a very useful resource for major events in the History of NASA.
