Frequently Requested Industry Submissions

As part of a program to proactively display information frequently requested from FDA, the Office of Food Additive Safety (OFAS) is making submissions received from industry under the notification and/or approval programs for Food Ingredients and Packaging available to the public. These records of known interest to the public are being disseminated on the web in order to improve Agency Disclosure of Information. The submissions are edited for display on the internet by redaction of non-disclosable information pursuant to 21 CFR Part 20, and removal of all personal privacy information and copyrighted material. Any bibliographic information from published articles subject to copyright laws is displayed in a reference page.

Currently, this site contains a subset of Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) notices submitted by industry under the GRAS notification program (62 FR 18938), and includes notices that FDA has not questioned, notices that FDA has ceased to evaluate and notices that do not provide a sufficient basis for GRAS status under the conditions of intended use. As additional submissions are prepared they will be displayed.
