America's Health Responders - U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned CorpsA New Look for Corps Materials
As you may be aware, several years ago the Corps engaged the services of a communications contractor to develop a new ?look? for our recruitment materials. Through this contract, a suite of materials was created that serve a variety of purposes and that complement one another to create a new ?brand identity? for the Corps. The new brand debuted with the launch of the revamped Web site last spring: www.usphs.gov. The brand includes a new recruitment campaign logo that features the tagline ?America?s Health Responders,? which is based on extensive audience research conducted with potential recruits. This logo does not replace the HHS logo or the PHS seal.

Presenting a Unified Image
Corps officers are encouraged to use the new materials whenever possible to ensure that we present a cohesive, consistent image to the outside world, including our future officers. The following materials are available in printed form and via download.

General Recruitment PowerPoint (PPT 10.5Mb) (PDF 1.6Mb)
This PowerPoint presentation is designed to give an overview of a career in the Corps. It is aimed at a general audience of potential officers (i.e., it is not category-specific). Talking points are provided for each slide and can be viewed by clicking View, then Notes Page. There are several placeholders for a presenter to customize the presentation. For example, in the introduction for the title slide, an officer would say, "Hello. I'm [Jane Smith], a [pharmacist] serving as [a lieutenant commander] in the U.S. Public Health Service."  Slide 28 should be completed to mirror the information presented on slides 16 and 17. If you have any questions about proper usage of this presentation, please contact LCDR Thomas Pryor at Thomas.Pryor@hhs.gov.

To view or print a PDF you need to download free Adobe Reader software.

Flyers/Posters
These flyers feature Corps officers in several categories and provide a testimonial about what is unique about a career in the Corps. There is a multi-category flyer that can be used to promote any profession. The flyers are available in a 8.5? x 11? size or in poster size, 11? x 14.5?.

Fact Sheets
These are two-sided sheets that can serve as a stand-alone introduction to the Corps or as an insert in the overview brochure. They are available to order by contacting DCCR, or to download in color or black and white.

COMING SOON
In the future, additional printed materials will be available to order from DCCR. These include:

Overview Brochure
This brochure provides a general overview of a career in the Corps, requirements for joining, benefits that differentiate the Corps from other employers, testimonials from officers, and a ?call to action? to encourage potential recruits to take the next step in finding out more information or speaking to a recruiter. This color brochure is available with four different covers featuring a medical officer, a nurse officer, a dental officer, and a pharmacist officer. It includes a back pocket in which fact sheets or other materials can be inserted.

Wallet Card
Designed to be carried in a wallet, purse, or pocket, this fold-over wallet card provides a brief overview of the Corps, a list of benefits, and the toll-free telephone number and URL for potential recruits to obtain more information about a career in the Corps. The back of the card includes space for an officer to write his or her name and contact information.
