What is Datacasting?
Datacasting is an RSS-based
technology for seamlessly disseminating information across the globe to those
passionate about the Earth Sciences. With Datacasting, data providers can
reach untold numbers of users using standards compliant technology.
Although a Datacasting feed can be viewed with any off the shelf RSS reader, the
real power of Datacasting is unleashed when combined with the Datacasting Feed Reader. This desktop Java application
allows users to execute powerful queries and filters on Datacasting feeds,
permitting them to extract information from these feeds in previously
unimaginable ways. The power of Datacasting is only limited by the imagination
of the user.
For more information about how Datacasting can help you analyze the Earth, or if
you are a data provider and wish to provide a valuable service to the Earth
Science community, please read more at the Documentation
site.
