How to Apply
Thank you for your interest in pursuing a career at Sandia National Laboratories. Below are steps on how to expedite the application process:
- Visit our corporate employment website to browse current job openings, and apply to all positions that interest you.
- Submit your resume while completing the online application to a specific job opening. We accept resumes in Word (.doc), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), ASCII text (.txt), or Rich Text (.rtf) file formats. Unfortunately our current system does not allow applicants to modify their online applications after the applications have been submitted. So please check to ensure all of your information has been entered correctly prior to submission.
- Upon successful completion of your online application, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. If you do not receive this e-mail within two hours, please check to ensure that you have not saved the application as a draft, rather than submitting it.
- You will be contacted directly via phone or e-mail if you are selected for an interview.
NOTE: Sandia’s corporate employment website is offline for maintenance every Tuesday evening between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m. MST. During this time, users will be unable to access the website. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you are experiencing difficulties accessing the corporate employment website outside of the maintenance times, see our troubleshooting tips for assistance.
National Lab Requirements
As a member of the U.S. national laboratory community, Sandia National Laboratories is bound by federal law to adhere to the following employment rules and guidelines:
- Sandia National Laboratories is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/D/V.
- Sandia is a Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory; as such, many of our jobs require a DOE security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment investigation that involves a credit check, verification of education, contact with listed employers for the last three years, contact with present employer (if applicant consent is given), contact with listed references, and contact with local and national law enforcement. Applicants offered employment with Sandia are then subject to a federal background investigation and must meet the requirements for employment, including access to classified information or matter.
- Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause you to be denied a clearance by the DOE, rendering you unable to perform the duties for which you were hired and resulting in termination of your employment.
- If you are a current Sandia regular employee, you must apply internally through the Sandia intranet Careers site. Contractors and Sandia temporary employees (e.g., Limited Term, Postdoc, Student Intern, etc.) must apply externally through the corporate employment website.
- Sandia does not accept unsolicited resume submissions online, by e-mail, or by mail. Only individuals applying to a specific job opening through the Sandia corporate employment website will be considered. Sandia does not allow late applications once the posting period for a job has passed.
