AESDirect Enhanced to Accept EDI Files in the Customs Proprietary Format
May 15, 2000
AESDirect has just introduced a major service enhancement. Effective May 15th, the EDI Upload Feature of AESDirect was upgraded to accept EDI Files formatted in the US Customs Proprietary Data Format.
Many companies and software vendors have programmed their systems to be able to produce the AES EDI files in this format. With the introduction of this capability, AESDirect immediately becomes an AES filing option for these companies.
You may eligible to begin using the AESDirect EDI Upload Feature (Customs Proprietary Format) for production filing without any further certification. Your company must satisfy both of the following criteria:
- You wish to use the AESDirect EDI File upload using the Customs Proprietary Format
- You are already certified by Census/Customs to submit Customs Proprietary Format files directly to AES
The EDI Upload Feature, when using the Customs Proprietary Format, is designed to allow you to submit the exact same file format and information content to AESDirect that you are currently sending directly to AES.
If you are not already registered for AESDirect, simply complete the on-line registration form. Be sure to answer "Yes" to the 2nd question in the EDI Section (Are you already certified by U.S. Customs to file Customs Proprietary Format directly to AES?)
If you are already registered for AESDirect and would like to begin using this new service, simply go to the AESDirect "How To Register Page, EDI Section" and send us an e-mail requesting EDI Upload capability.
