Subject:	Seaborg performance problems and outage Thu Feb 16

Dear Seaborg users, The software updates applied to Seaborg over the weekend have resulted in lower performance for application codes. We have observed (and some users have reported) between 10 and 30 percent lower performance than before the software upgrades. We will be taking Seaborg down this Thursday, February 16, at 7:00 AM to address this problem: either patches will be applied, or the new software will be backed out. If you would like your Seaborg jobs to run between now and Thursday you should request a short enough run time so that the job will complete before the scheduled down time.
