| Greetings NERSC MPP User,
As previously announced:

Allocation Year 2005 (AY05) ends tomorrow night, Wednesday,
November 30, at 23:59. AY06 begins at midnight. In order
to process the final accounting records for AY05, the three
NERSC MPP machines (Seaborg, Jacquard, and DaVinci) will
cease user processing at 19:00 Wednesday night. User logins
will be disabled and all user processes (both interactive and
batch) will be terminated. The systems will all return to
normal service shortly after midnight.
The batch systems have been configured not to start any job
whose requested time would take it beyond 19:00 on Wednesday.
Thus, it will appear that jobs are starting out-of-order, as
the schedulers looks for jobs that are guaranteed to complete
before the shutdown. Depending on the current job mix in the
batch queues, users may be able to get quick turnaround on
short jobs.
