EMPLOYER STATUS DETERMINATION
BIRMINGHAM TERMINAL COMPANY

 
This is the determination of the Railroad Retirement Board concerning the continuing status of the Birmingham Terminal Company (BTC) (B.A. No. 4508) as an employer under the Railroad Retirement Act (45 U.S.C. § 231, et seq.) (RRA) and the Railroad Unemployment Insurance Act (45 U.S.C. § 351, et seq.) (RUIA). BTC was ruled to be an employer under the RRA and RUIA effective July 1, 1901.

Mr. M. W. Jackson, Manager, Payroll Accounting, Norfolk Southern Corporation (NS) (B.A. No. 9408), reported that BTC was dissolved on June 1, 1986.

In accordance with the information set forth above, it is the determination of the Railroad Retirement Board that Birmingham Terminal Company ceased to be an employer under the RRA and RUIA on June 1, 1986, the date it was dissolved.
