2nd Round of Targeted Site Efforts (TSEs)

At the Brownfields 2002 Conference, EPA announced a second round of Targeted Site Efforts (TSEs). TSEs are designed to showcase Brownfields tools and RCRA Cleanup Reforms and also to emphasize the importance of addressing brownfields issues in RCRA cleanups. This second round of TSEs will support specific site work (outreach, site assessment, etc.) and/or provide assistance in fleshing out approaches and options for cleanup and reuse (e.g., supporting meetings, researching options and other activities) at RCRA facilities.

1st Round of Targeted Site Efforts

In September 2001, seven RCRA facilities were selected as "targeted sites" where the RCRA Brownfields Prevention Initiative would conduct Targeted Site Efforts (TSEs). The targeted sites were selected because they had one or a number of barriers that were preventing them from being cleaned up and/or redeveloped. The TSEs focus short term resources, (both human resources and some funding) to resolve these barriers to moving forward with cleanup and reuse of the RCRA site. Information on results and lessons learned from the TSEs will be posted here when they are completed.
