Planting the Tallgrass Prairie; You Can Help!

On June 14, join Park Rangers from the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and employees from REI, Inc. to help restore the tallgrass prairie at Coon Rapids Regional Park’s Cenaiko Lake. All ages are welcome to participate in planting native flowers and grasses. Activities start at 9:00 a.m. and end at noon.

Coon Rapids Dam  

Did You Know?
Over 600 men worked around the clock using hand tools, horses and coal powered shovels to build the original Coon Rapids Dam in 1913. The dam was rebuilt between 1995 and 1997.
