Prairie Larkspur (Delphinium virescens)

Description: Single, cornucopia-shaped flowers are arranged alternately along the stem. The leaves are divided and the flowers are whitish with a bluish tinge. Adult plants will disappear in hot weather, and then reappear after it cools off. All parts of the fresh flower are poisonous except to sheep.

Planting: Sow unstratified seed in the fall and stratified seed in the spring. The plants will produce seeds by the second year.
