DMV gives you the opportunity to
register to vote. Qualified voters can request the registration form from the
Department at any time. When you apply for a driver license, ID Card, License
Renewal or Change of Address, we will ask whether you wish to register or
update your registration and give you the correct form. This "Motor
Voter" procedure was established by the National Voter Registration Act
of 1993 and Nevada law.
You may complete the form in
person at a DMV office and submit it to us. We will forward it to your County
Clerk or Registrar of Voters. You may also take the form and
mail it or deliver it yourself.
If you are changing your address
with the DMV by mail, you may request the voter registration form by
checking the appropriate box on the Change of
Address Application. We will mail the form to you. It is then your
responsibility to complete and submit the form to your county Clerk or
Registrar.
Important: Updating
your address with DMV does not automatically update your voter
registration. DMV does not enter voter information into any computer
system. The County Registrar/Clerk must receive the paper form for your
registration or change to be valid.
