New Book Details Winter Recreation on the
Gifford Pinchot National Forest

VANCOUVER, WA - A new book titled "Gifford Pinchot National Forest Winter Recreation Guide" is now available for sale at Forest Service offices around the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

This 68-page book provides information on winter recreation opportunities throughout the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, from Wind River to Randle, Mt. Adams and Mount St. Helens.

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest provides a variety of opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and has 275 miles of snowmobile, ski, and snowshoe trails. A new snow play area at the Oldman Pass Sno-Park is also highlighted in this guide.

The book contains information on winter recreation areas throughout the National Forest with trail descriptions and maps of all the Sno-Parks. There is also a section on winter safety to help ensure a pleasant experience.

The book was produced with the aid of the Northwest Interpretive Association and retails for $4.95 plus tax. Proceeds from the sale of the book go toward educational and interpretive services on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
