Named after Hardtime Creek,
the real hard part is the length, about 12.7 miles for a complete
loop. Groomed trail can be followed for the entire length, except
for walking across Wind River Highway to ski Trail 150. This
loop boast open views of Mount Adams and Mount St Helens. Several
signed shortcuts area available. |

This loop incorporates both
groomed and ungroomed trail, mostly through deep forest. In
most conditions it is easier to ski the loop counter clockwise.
Levat the groomed track at its low point 2,800 ft elev) and cross
the Outlaw Creek Bridge and skirt nearby wetlands, then continue up
the steep, ungroomed trail to Road 3054. |

This is the most used loop in
the area. Follow Trail 148 on the west side of the highway and
return via Trail 150 on the east side (or vise versa). The entire
loop is groomed and follows undulating forested terrain. The
loop can be shortenend by cutting across Wind River Highway at McClellan
Meadows Sno*Park. |

This is a challenging loop for
experienced skiers. The bulk of this loop is on ungroomed trail,
climbing 1,000 feet on Terminator Trail (159) to Road 65, then descending
McClellan Meadows Trail back to Road 3053. There are views of
Mount St. Helens at the top along Road 65. This long tour is
for experts who are prepared, including a map and compass. |
