The National Weather Service forecast for this weekend indicates a severe winter storm is due. According to the NWS this morning, the forecast for Friday:

Friday: Snow. Temperature falling to around 21 by 4pm. Wind chill values as low as -1. Windy, with a southwest wind 30 to 35 mph increasing to between 45 and 50 mph. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.

If you have plans to visit, please do so via the VolcanoCams. Stay home and don't venture into the Forest or the Monument.
