Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge was established to conserve kodiak brown bears, salmon, sea otters, sea lions, other marine mammals, and migratory birds; to fulfill treaty obligations; to provide for continued subsistence uses; and to ensure necessary water quality and quantity.
