The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Rural Fire Assistance program awarded 38 grants worth $149,401 to fire departments in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia. A total of 172 fire departments within the northeast region have been identified as eligible to participate in the RFA program.
