The Riverine Survival program teams, including Transportation and Quantitative Ecology Teams, are part of the Riverine Ecology Group within the Fish Ecology Division. Staff from these combined programs, with support from the Fisheries Engineering Program, conduct multi-pronged investigations to assess the effects and influence of the Columbia River hydropower system on the long-term viability of anadromous fish stocks, particularly salmonids listed as threatened or endangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA).
See a recent 2005 Quantitative Ecology publication entitled: Effects of the Federal Columbia River Power System on Salmonid Populations.
