US Forest Service Woody Biomass Utilization

Woody Biomass Utilization

Identify and Build Partnerships through Collaboration

A group of men and women having a discussion at a biomass operation site.

Effective and diverse partnerships are critical to the successful implementation of this strategy. The challenges inherent in woody biomass utilization occur at multiple geographic and time scales, and extend beyond Forest Service boundaries. To deal with these factors, strong and effective partnerships with diverse stakeholder groups are required to bridge human and fiscal resource gaps and develop the linkages necessary for the successful implementation of this strategy. Collaborative efforts involving adjacent landowners and other stakeholders can help establish priority restoration needs and identify suitable treatment approaches that include woody biomass utilization. Partnerships are established, maintained, and strengthened through long-term relationships built on accomplishing common objectives.
