Gliomas del tronco encefálico
Ensayos clínicos en curso
Los gliomas del tronco encefálico tienen un pronóstico relativamente precario
que se correlaciona con la histología (cuando se llevan a cabo biopsias), la
ubicación y el grado tumoral. El tiempo de supervivencia media general de
pacientes en estudios ha sido de 44 a 74 semanas.[1-5] Los mejores resultados
se
han obtenido con radioterapia hiperfraccionada.[5]

- Ante una recidiva, los pacientes deberán ser tomados en cuenta para ensayos
clínicos que evalúan nuevos fármacos y modificadores de la respuesta
biológica.[7,8]

Consultar el Registro de Ensayos Clínicos sobre Cáncer del PDQ del NCI (NCI's PDQ Cancer Clinical Trials Registry) para acceder a los ensayos clínicos que se realizan en los Estados Unidos y que están aceptando pacientes. Para realizar la búsqueda, usar el término en inglés adult brain stem glioma. La lista de ensayos clínicos se puede reducir si se especifican la localidad, el tipo de medicamento, el procedimiento y otros criterios. Nota: los resultados obtenidos solo estarán disponibles en inglés.
