DOCLINE -- Add a Holdings Record for My Library


Question: How do I add a holdings record for my library?
Answer:

To add a holdings record:

  1. On the DOCLINE navigation bar, select Serial Holdings.

  2. On the DOCLINE sub navigation bar, select Update/View.

  3. On the Serial Holdings Search page, input the bibliographic information: NLM Unique ID, ISSN, OCLC Number, or Journal Title/Title Abbreviation.

  4. Under Search Limits, make sure the checkbox in front of My Library is selected.

  5. Click Search.

    If your library has not recorded the holdings for this title in DOCLINE Serial Holdings, the Add Holdings screen will display.

  6. Select the appropriate Retention Policy (Default is Permanently Retained).

  7. Select the appropriate Acquisition Status.

  8. Input the Holdings Owned. For information on adding non-contiguous holdings, see the FAQ How do I report a gap in holdings?

    Note: To move between fields, press Tab or click in the appropriate field.

  9. Click Add.
