Background

The Refuge Support Group (Friends) Program was started in 1996, with a collective goal of building a network of private citizens and volunteers dedicated to protecting our country's wildlife heritage. Guiding principles of the program are community partnerships provide significant contributions to the growth and management of the National Wildlife Refuge System; they facilitate public involvement in refuge planning and management.
