Researching and Reducing Cancer-Related Health Disparities

One in four deaths in the United States is attributable to cancer, and one in three Americans will eventually develop some form of cancer. Each day, 3,400 people in America are diagnosed with cancer and another 1,500 die from the disease. But the burden of cancer is too often greater for the poor, ethnic minorities, and the uninsured than for the general population. Learn More ...

CRCHD Presents to NCI’s Board of Scientific Advisors

Drs. Meade, Kaur, and Cooper presented to the Board of Scientific Advisors. Their presentations captured some of the work the CRCHD's Community Networks Program (CNP) projects have been doing over the past few years, laying a strong foundation for the upcoming program reissuance.

Outstanding Participation at the 2009 AACR Conference

The 2nd annual, co-sponsored AACR-NCI conference, “Science of Cancer Health Disparities,” hosted over 400 researchers and practitioners. The agenda nicely balanced presentations in basic and applied science related to cancer health disparities, and the poster sessions provided a terrific platform for many of our junior investigators to present their research.

We are looking forward to working with the AACR on next year’s conference, to be held in the fall of 2010.
