Census 2000 Data by Race and Ethnicity from the PL 94-171 Summary File

For Census 2000, the U.S. Census Bureau (the Bureau) obtained data on race and ethnicity for individuals living in the United States at the time of the Census. One of the first files to be released with this information was the Census 2000 Redistricting (Public Law 94-171) Summary File. Information about and from this file can be found in the following section entitled "Tables for Race and Ethnic Distributions in the United States Based on the Public Law 94-171 File from the 2000 Census."
