Calendar of Events

Spring:

Crappie and bass fishing peak.
Wildflowers are abundant.
Northern snowmelt swells Mississippi River.
Birds migrating north.
Excellent wildlife viewing opportunties.

Summer:
Catfishing still good.
Habitat management programs are busy.
Heat, humidity, and bugs can be extreme.

Fall:

Squirrel hunting begins the end of August.
Other hunts follow through the end of the year.
Public Lands Day in September.
National Wildlife Refuge Week in October.
Excellent wildlife viewing opportunties.

Winter:

Hunting closes the end of February.
Wintering waterfowl use peaks.
