Biological Control:
The War on Saltcedar
The invasive
tree saltcedar (Tamarix spp.) grows
up to 30 feet tall and infests more than a million acres along the
West's rivers and streams. The effort to control saltcedar by natural
means is the focus of the Saltcedar
Biological Control Consortium,
a group of federal and state agencies and private organizations.
