Marvell, AR Honor Student Research Internship Program Application

Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Delta Obesity Prevention Research Unit (OPRU) Honor Student Research Internship Program! The applications can be acquired by downloading the form at http://www.ars.usda.gov/main/site_main.htm?modecode=62-51-05-00
and clicking on the “Careers” link OR by picking up a hard copy from your school office. To be eligible you must be an Honor Student graduating this semester that has applied to a college or university and has been accepted for the Fall 2009 Semester (notification must be received by June 1st, 2009).
The application package consists of the following:
§ Application Coversheet
§ OF-612 form
§ Delta OPRU Intern Questionnaire
§ Student Resume (maximum of 2 pages)
§ Copy of an official transcript (High School and College, if applicable)
Interns will be selected from applications received from Marvell Academy and Marvell High School and the hiring process will be competitive in nature. This internship will consist of an 8-week paid work experience that will provide various research opportunities. A total of 4 summer interns will be selected with 2 positions each located in Marvell and Elaine, Arkansas. Students applying for the positions will need to identify on the application coversheet if they are applying for the two Marvell positions and/or the two Elaine positions. The positions will be offered at a per hour salary rate of $10.76, before taxes. The 8 week employment will begin on June 1, with an orientation in Marvell which will provide you with an understanding of the federal government and your job duties.
