Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) authorizes the provision of certain commercial services to GGNRA visitors under a Commercial Use Authorization program. GGNRA accepts applications from commercial operators on an annual basis for the following types of services:
Tour Vehicle Services—
Motor vehicles of any type or size that are used to transport visitors into and/or out of any area administered by GGNRA for a direct to indirect fee are considered Commercial Tour Vehicles and may be subject to a Commercial Use Authorization.
Fitness Courses—
Any type of guided exercise activity provided within GGNRA for a direct to indirect fee is considered a Fitness Course. This definition of Fitness Course includes but is not limited to fitness instruction, education, and motivational exercises for groups of all sizes, including individual coaching.
Other commercial services within GGNRA are under consideration, but not currently permitted.
You need a Commercial Use Authorization for your Tour Vehicle or Outdoor Fitness operation within GGNRA if:
Your operation is commercial in nature, i.e. a for-profit venture in which the fees charged are greater than direct expenses
You provide services within GGNRA more than 1 time per week or 4 times per month
