Golden Gate National Recreational Area
Doing Business With The Park

Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) authorizes the provision of certain commercial services to GGNRA visitors under a Commercial Use Authorization program. GGNRA accepts applications from commercial operators on an annual basis for the following types of services:

  • Tour Vehicle Services
Motor vehicles of any type or size that are used to transport visitors into and/or out of any area administered by GGNRA for a direct to indirect fee are considered Commercial Tour Vehicles and may be subject to a Commercial Use Authorization.
  • Fitness Courses
Any type of guided exercise activity provided within GGNRA for a direct to indirect fee is considered a Fitness Course. This definition of Fitness Course includes but is not limited to fitness instruction, education, and motivational exercises for groups of all sizes, including individual coaching.
  • Other commercial services within GGNRA are under consideration, but not currently permitted.

You need a Commercial Use Authorization for your Tour Vehicle or Outdoor Fitness operation within GGNRA if:

  1. Your operation is commercial in nature, i.e. a for-profit venture in which the fees charged are greater than direct expenses
  2. You provide services within GGNRA more than 1 time per week or 4 times per month
