GROUND WATER BRANCH TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM NO. 76.2

Subject: GROUND WATER - Planning and design of ground-water
                         networks.

Enclosed is a document you will find helpful as a technical
reference for evaluation of ongoing water-level monitoring in your
district, and as a general source of information to aid continuing
revision and redesign of water-level measurement programs to meet
changes in distribution of hydraulic and water-quality stresses.

Entitled "Planning and Design of Ground Water Level Networks," the
report incorporates primarily writings of Ralph Heath (see WRD
Bull., Jan.-Feb. 1974, p. 19-25) and George Davis, with additional
contributions by Paul Seaber and Charles A. Appel, all of the
Water Resources Division. Some Russian material is also included.
It was compiled and edited by George C. Taylor, Jr., as a proposed
Chapter in UNESCO's Guidebook on Ground Water Studies.
