Advisory CommitteesAdvisory committees consist of individuals who have an interest in management of National Forests. These committees are comprised of federal employees and representatives of various interest groups. Individuals interested in serving on one of Olympic National Forest's advisory committees should contact Olympic National Forest headquarters in Olympia, WA at 1835 Black Lake Blvd. or call (360) 956-2300. All advisory committee meetings are open to the public.
Resource Advisory Committees have the responsibility to reveiw and recommend Title II projects for approval under the Secure Rural Schools & Community Self-Determination Act of 2000. This Act is often referred to as the "Payments to County" Act. The Olympic Peninsula RAC consists of Clallam, Jefferson, Mason and Grays Harbor counties. NOTE: In 2005 Grays Harbor County was combined with the Olympic Peninsula RAC. Committee members serve for a period of four years. Members of the Olympic Privince Advisory Committee (OPAC) serve in an advisory role in assisting the Forest Supervisor in implementing the Northwest Forest Plan. There is no specified time members serve on Province Advisory Committees. Click here to view PAC Charter - signed October 17, 2005
